Mr. Cox is currently the sole shareholder in the Cox Law Firm, where his practice consists primarily of ad valorem tax valuation disputes. Mr. Cox has more than 20 years of experience mediating and litigating ad valorem tax disputes throughout the state of Texas.
Mr. Cox received degrees in Accounting and Management from Houston Baptist University in 1981. In 1988 he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law, and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1989. He is also a Certified Public Accountant, having been licensed in 1985.
Mr. Cox is a member of the Real Estate, Probate & Trust and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections of the State Bar of Texas, the Christian Legal Society, the Texas Association of Property Tax Professionals, and the Texas Society of CPA’s.
Mr. Cox also served as Adjunct Professor of Business Law in the Masters Program at Houston Baptist University, and from 2006 to 2008, he served as Associate Municipal Judge for the City of Houston.
Mr. Cox is a past member of the Board of Alumni, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Houston Baptist University. Ray and his wife, Barbara, have twin sons, Colton and Tyler. Ray and his family are members of Second Baptist Church, Houston.
